At a dinner

November 18, 2010

Cover life in wine
until it drowns
Satire has no place here,
Straight arrows rocket forth
Until they strike flesh
toned from exercise but
untouched by corruption
The banker’s smiling, friendly
and has a positive outlook
So do the girls.

Their blue eyes,
(blue to the left, blue to the right, blue straight ahead, all blue)
bring no pain but no salvation either.

Maybe if I try enough,
I’ll understand
And their agendas will open
like wallets
Then we shall be equal,
blue eyes, blue eyes, blue eyes
