the Apparatus of descent

August 20, 2010

This is not a lake

The apparatus of descent
Asleep beneath a lake
With rusty claws and razor cogs
And sharpened phallus stake

It’s dreaming of a better time
When it will wake again
And dine again on flesh and blood
In brine and lust and pain

It was invented by a man
Amidst the city din
It was invented at a time
When men still dreamed of sin

It was invented to surround
To claw and tear and stain
It makes a broken human sound
And sings of dirt and strain

Be glad that you are safe and dry
That you are dry and safe
The apparatus of descent
Is sleeping in the lake

The apparatus is asleep
It is not yours to take
But bring your lover and have him
Dive straight into the lake

Wow! This is spectacular. I love the rhyming, and everything. Wow. This was really amazing. I have to ask though, what exactly is the apparatus?

The above is probably the best way I can describe it. It lies a couple of meters under the surface of the water just where a jetty ends, in a suburb oustde of Stockholm, sweden. It is made of steel, and it refuses to rust, asleep in the water…

  3. I very much enjoyed this,Anton
    a mysterious feeling to it,
